15 anti-virus software compatible with Windows, recommended by Microsoft

Microsoft recommends users to choose one of these 15 security and anti-virus software to protect the safety of computers running Windows operating systems.
Windows 7 and earlier versions force users to install security software themselves to protect their computers. However, from Windows 8 version, Microsoft has built-in Microsoft Defender Antivirus software completely free. However, many people are not very interested in this default software.

In case Windows 8 and above users want to install another solution to replace Windows Defender Antivirus, Microsoft recommends 15 specific software as follows:

- Bitdefender (Romania).

- F-Secure (Finland).

- NortonLifeLock (USA).

- Lenovo (China).

- McAfee (USA), ESET (Slovakia).

- Arcabit (Finland).

- Faronics (Canada).

- Trend Micro (Japan).

- G DATA (Germany).

- K7 Computing (India).

- AhnLab (Korea).

- Malwarebytes (USA).

- Avast Security (Czech).

- Kaspersky Lab (Russia).

The above list is just a random arrangement, not a ranking. Microsoft claims all are compatible with Windows and equipped with safety features suitable for users.

Note: When users install another security software on Windows, Microsoft Defender Antivirus is automatically disabled. At that time, the computer will be protected by newly installed anti-virus and security software.

However, users should not install many different security and anti-virus software on their computer to avoid conflicts between software.
